Afro Punk Festival Unveils Initial Lineup

James Spooner has done it again.  How else do you follow up last year’s Afro Punk festival featuring Saul Williams and Janelle Monae but book the legendary Bad Brains to headline the 2010 edition?  Sure it’s not free, but the bang you get for $20 is worth it.  Over the weekend of June 25, you can see a varied lineup at Commodore Barry Park in Brooklyn including Bad Brains, Ninjasonik, 24-7 Spyz, J*Davey, K-os, Martin Luther, God Forbid, Cipher and The Cool Kids.  And it’s been around for years, but if you haven’t seen it, please check out the Afro Punk Documentary.
